Removing code from DCT

I am trying to remove extra code added when generating pages when using the visual editor in TS 6.5, I am doing it with Formapi.
I am getting the value of the text field, parsing it and replacing unwanted code, my problem right now is getting that value saved back to the dcr data file. this is the code i am using:

NOTE: with this code i am removing: but eventualy i need to remove from the field all these: <meta content="MSHTML 6.00.6000.16890" name="GENERATOR" />

Pardon the stating of the obvious, but if you understand this code:

var whole_body = String(IWDatacapture.getItem("/Page Content").getValue());

... one would hope you have sufficient resources in your head or at your fingertips to figure out how to use almost the same code to do what you are asking.

I need to save the new value of the text field to the xml document, I dont see how that piece of code can save the value back before generating the page, I am stuck there.

Fish, is just trying to help you learn, because this is a very basic topic. You should have the "FormsPublisher: FormAPI Developer’s Guide" document available to you somewhere which contains all reference material you would need to figure out this particular issue. Obviously, you know how to getValue(), and more than likely there's some way to set a value that's similar to how you getValue().
