getting workarea name for a DCT

I want to use a common ipl file for populating values for two DCT.

Based on workarea, ipl file will fetch out values from database and populate the dropdowns in DCT of a particular workarea.

Do we have any method in teamsite that returns the current workarea for a DCT?

Can any one tell me how to do this?

Take a look at DCT "inline" Tag. There are usage samples in TS manuals and the Forum

The inline tag is only for inline files but
I want to use different database based on the workarea in all the callouts, callserver and inline files .
For that I need to determine which workarea the DCT belongs to.
Do we have any method to achieve this?

Are you talking about different workareas on the same branch or different workareas on different branches?

The former is not recommended / a dubious design decision.
