Use of TinyMCE in TS

We have included VisualFormat as an external editor in one text area.
When I create new form entry and click on that text area, VF gets loaded automatically. My local machine is windows xp sp3. But my collegue, who is on a different loaction, when he clicks on that text area, system asks him if he wants to install (or use) VF or not. If he clicks on "no", then he can work without VisualFormat.

So, does external editor behave differently for different local system ? If VF is included in DCT, then it shd provide same options on all the systems. Why does it behave differently ?

Ektron's VFE is an ActiveX Control -- part of it has to be installed on the user's computer. Once that is installed -- all users should see the same behavior. Alternatively, TinyMCE is all server side.

I would imagine you already have it installed on your machine so it will always appear for you. if you get rid of VisualFormat off your machine you would have the same options as this user. if this user installed VisualFormat they would no longer get the install question.

I checked "Add or Remove Programs" on my computer. But I dont see VisualFormat installed on my computer. How to check, whether its installed or not on my m/c ? Is it installed under some different name than "Visual Format" ? How can I remove it, if I dont see it in "Add or Remove Programs" list ?

I was going thru documentation of tst.670.dev.pdf , in that it is stated that only VisualFormat external editor is supported by Teamsite. So is, TinyMCE supported from 6.7.1 and onwards ?

it's an addon to IE it's won't necessarily be under Add/Remove Programs. If you go into IE and Manage Add-ons it'll show up listed there. Then you just need to go through some process to remove said add-on (which isn't easy or fun) and then you'll get that same message your user gets. Or you could just go to a new machine that has never access TeamSite and you'll get the same results.

To answer one of your other questions in Posts. Yes, tinyMCE became an part of the product package with 6.7.1.
