Hi,

I am getting teamsite performance issue when i execute my generation workflow script. In that case CPU utilization Idle instance spike at 100%.
idle CPU touches 100%

CPU touches 100% scenario : When we trigger multiple WF jobs (more than 3 jobs)
Total processes running at backend 178

rewrite your generate workflow script.

That is likely the problem. Try to run a copy of it without being in a WF (you will need to make some changes to do that) and see if you can profile why.

This is quite common, a generate content step in the WF tends to be quite large and is a catch all.

One step to look for is setting EAs, if you generate blah.html with iwpt_compile then you need to attach 3 EA. You can do it in one step by using the xml option to iwextattr. That will drop your CPU significantly.

Also, Adam Stoller wrote a white paper about making Perl more efficient, read it and use it.

I'm confused - what do you mean that idle spikes at 100%? If something is idle, it isn't spiking - it's dormant.

If CPU utilization spikes when you run a particular operation, you should verify what that operation is actually doing; i.e.: Is there a Perl script or Java program being executed by the workflow at this time? If so, you should examine the code for that program to verify that it is written efficiently and doesn't allow for endless-loops, etc.
