6.7.2 upgrade and the iwts user..

We are upgrading to 6.7.2 and have run into an issue with the iwts user. After installing 6.7.2, I attempted to start TS but it failed. The iwts user was not created nor was the store given ownership by iwts. I was under the impression that the installation process would create that user. We are using LDAP, so I'm not sure if this is a user account that has to be created by us manually first and then run the installer, or installer generated. And if we do create it, what rights would we give it?

iwts is created by the install program. just look at the installation logs and you will see if the install tried to create such user and if there were any errors. are you running the installation as root?

I've looked over the logs but I don't see anything that says that the iwts user was not created. Actually, I dont' even see a mention of user "iwts" at all.

How would the installer handle LDAP? It's not like it can go and create the account on the LDAP tree. Just curious why the install documents doesn't tell you what to do with regards to LDAP.

those are local users and groups the install creates to run certain functionality in teamsite. did you run the installation as root? ( not with sudo...)

This article is for TS6.7.1, may not be applicable for TS6.7.2 as in the current case.

Since, you are trying to upgrade from TS6.5 SP3 to TS6.7.2 (no SP?), you may try this article.
Please open a ticket with Support too on this.

Had to uninstall the 6.7.2 installation, make sure all permissions where open on the store, user files, and then re-install. It worked this time.

You should look at the following file:

iw-home/install/tsconfig.log

That log file will tell you if the iwts user was created successfully or not.
