If I remove the dnr section , deployment runs fine

suprisingly an empty file techpromo_dnr_debug_procId.out gets created in the target. Does this mean that dnr script is executed. Then why the file is empty.

The deployment is called inside a wf. Any idea about a wf / TS log file to debug further?

First, please learn how to format and preview your posts before you submit them.

Secondly, Unless I'm missing something - there are no errors in the log file excerpts shown above. It processed a file, created the temporary file, renamed it into place and went through the commit stage. Are you sure there's a problem here to resolve?

If the file gets created, then the script ran - which would seem to jive with the lack of error messages in the log file. I don't see a close TEST; statement above, which might account for the file being empty instead of containing your expected print statement.

If you were expecting something else to happen as part of the DNR script - you'll have to debug it more and/or post the entire thing along with a reasonably detailed description / explanation of what you think is not happening.

Thanks Adam.

There is no error with the deployments,It just hangs.Debugged the dnr. Found out that control is not getting back from IWXML::GetLogDataFromSTDIN().Observed that no manifest file is getting generated (both at source and at target).Seems IWXML is waiting at STDIN for manifest.Weird thing is that , with the same configuration , the dnr ran successfully once(only once) yesterday.infostreamformat in odbase(in both source and target ) is manifest.While developing initialy(couple of days back) i faced same issue (hanging at WXML::GetLogDataFromSTDIN()) with state="success" for dnr settings in deployment configuration.I thought the situation to be "deadlock like" and changed state to "always".Then the dnr started working fine. But right of now, dnr gets hanged with both values of state. Any pointers on this seemingly unstable behavior?

I believe the issue is either with dnr settings in deployment configuration. Or with target server settings.

Try changing the infostreamformat to "log" and restart the server(s).
Based on your posted code, is it correct to assume that the target is also a TeamSite server?

Yes. deploying from one TS Server (Dev TS)to Another(PROD TS). Thanks for your valuable suggestion .But we use targetFileSystem for deployment.Will update you after changing the infostreamformat to log. But as per documentation both logformats are compatible with OD version 6.0 .

For your information , We had a similar target side dnr script ,where the deployment occurs from the same source (the DEV TS Server mentioned ) to a CH (ControlHub)Server. This has same configurations,that is , status="always" and infstreamformat="manifest".The dnr uses IWXML.pm without any issues. This one is working fine.

May be the issue is with PROD TS Server settings.

So you're saying that you don't care if the DNR encounters any issues - there's no reason for the DNR script to cause the deployment (as a whole) to "fail" - yes?

yup. async deployment is not good enough , as i need to return back any failures with in the dnr to deployment. so i changed async="no". Then i tried triggerpoint="" (ie, no values). It worked like a charm.Hope this behavior is consistent. Many thanks to Adam.
