Check Links in Workflow

Does anyone have any suggestions about how I can check for broken links within a workflow before a file is submitted to staging? Any exe's I can use as external tasks?

See earlier threads, such as Invoke link checker from workflow ? that appeared not too long ago in the TeamSite forum.

There are many utilities out there (some free, some not so free) for doing link checking and quite a few (such as those references in the above link) can be used from the command line.

I, personally, have not used either of the link checking scripts referenced in that post - but I don't see any particular reason why they could not work.
