I want to know as to how to initiate a WORKFLOW on the click of a CALLOUT button such as "add user", "apply","submit" etc which we create in the DCT. On clicking on any of these buttons in the forms, a workflow should be initiated. Could you kindly help me out on the same . Have to do some urgent work ..

Why would you do this?
Instead you should be looking at configuring a workflow to run when the DCR is completed / saved through the mechanisms already provided (e.g.: tt_data)

well i have a form ... on it i have a button called say, "get user". On clicking the button , a workflow should be instantiated that will collect ids from 3 different ppl- something like this... how can i exactly do this ??

You're going to run a workflow in the midst of editing a DCR - in order to get information to add to the DCR?

Or are you talking about writing some automated script process that queries some database (LDAP?) to get a list of users from which the content contributor can select some entries to be stored within the DCR?

the process is:
on click of a button,say "get user" ,a wrkflw will be initiated and after going through a list of tasks it will update some other dcr with the list of users as required. In the meantime one can update the rest of the form.

I would consider your design questionable - however, that being said, you could use an onclick event to invoke a callserver script that could initiate a workflow using either iwwft_compile.ipl, iwjobc, or [possibly] iwmodelc.
