Deployment options - need guidance

Hi,

We are building a KMS application using .Net front end application. TeamSite is going to be used as the CMS.

We are considering the below deployment options.

1. Deploying metadata and DCR content to database.
2. Deploying metadata to database and DCR content (as custom XML) to file system on IIS server.

Could you please let me know which option you would go with and what would the factors will enable to choose between the two?

You can do either. It should not be a CMS decision but a web server decision.

Do you need a RDMBS ? Is this truly a dynamic site ? Or are you using DotNet to read static information from a dynamic resource ? I have seen a number of sites that are "dynamic" but display static content, everyone sees the same thing.

I prefer using HTML where the content is completely static. I tend to use XML database (i.e. XML files) to feed DotNet applications (say an ecommerce site) with again static information.

If you really need high volume dynamic sites, then you need to use an RDBMS.
