xhtml output of dcr

Hi ,

We are planning to biuld a mobile version of existing site.

When I have gone through the details it is mentione dlike if the output is in .xhtml format then it is readable in mobile devices.

what are additional steps required apart from the below mentioned to

generate .xhtml output from dcr

1) Updating the dct entry in templating.cfg and set extension as ".xhtml".

2) Changing the presenation template code to maintain/reach .xhtml tag

specifications.

3) Validating the .xhml page through w3c validator.

pls let me know if i am missing any steps.

I think you're over-simplifying some aspects of the issue. Have you ever heard of the term "WAP"? Do you understand that different mobile devices may provide different results when rendering the same content? Have you considered the amount and formatting of the content that should appear on a mobile device versus what appears on a standard computer's browser window?

Yes - using XHTML is a reasonable direction - even if you aren't targeting mobile devices - while you can use a .xhtml file extension, I believe the "authorities" would recommend that the extension remain as just .html or [gag] .htm.

If you don't know what you're doing - perhaps someone else should be doing it. Either that, or you're not very good at expressing yourself in English.
