DataDeploy at TS with SP and LS

Hi,
Currently, I am on the project with TeamSite 6.7.2 with SitePublisher and LiveSite as well. Honestly, I don’t have experience with SitePublisher and LiveSite.
I would like to know – is it possible use DataDeploy as it used to be?
I have DCRs which need bring data to DB by using CLT.
If it is possible, please provide right steps to archive this task in slightly modified environment.

What do you mean as it used to be ?

I highly suggest you follow the manual exactly for the WF/OD/DD configuration. Do not deviate until you are used to it.

Good idea, make it bold. We will understand then.

You can use DD in any way you want. Try it. If you break something, well that is too bad.

If you are deploying to tables other than what LS uses you should be safe, if you are deploying to the LS tables, get your resume updated.

Ok so SP and LS has nothing to do with this. Now it is still not clear which one of the following scenario you want:

1. DCR to a Database.
2. Database Data to a DCR (i.e. drop down menu item or something)

???
If you want option 1 from above then (assuming you have OD/DD up and running) you need following:

1. DD config / mapping file (DCR XML to DB Column mapping).

2. Some wrapper code that executes the DD config. This could be done with Perl/CLT or Java/WebServices. Since you asked for CLT, the CLT to kick off DD is exact same as OD. I believe it is *iwodstart* -- look up the OD Dev guide. I tend to take the web services route so I could be off a little bit -- not by much though :-)

3. Some event / mechanism to execute this wrapper code (i.e. WF External Task).

Mapping XML for DD and the OD without real deployment just DNR to launch DD.

I would recommend you learn DD a little bit. How you organize your custom DD deployment configuration files (i.e. the files that hold XML to DB mapping) is upto you. They don't have to be in the LS folder. OOTB PLC WF ships with a few DD config files and they are housed under LiveSite folder.

In the event, you are going to be using one of the OOTB DD config files that support PLC workflow then you do NOT need to define a custom DD config file or do anything. With a simple spring bean configuration you can re-use the PLC WF and OOTB DD configuration.

You don't have to use DnR -- you can fire off DD deployment directly.

Why would the location of DD be different because of SP/LS?
In general, the recommendation since around OD 5.0 has been to not install OD within IWHOME (or in this case, LSHOME) - so the location of DD should be the same.

I think he's talking about the DD Configuration (XML to DB Mapping) files. OOTB files used by PLC WF for SP content reside at od-home/conf/LiveSite/*.xml. I think that's what he meant.

Yes, location slightly changed with LS and SP configurations for DD.
OD in regular base installation as it was before.
