Prevent templating.cfg from creating output file

My tpl file only contains perl code that calls some custom modules that populate a database. I don't want to generate any files (xml or text).

Here is a snippet from my templating.cfg file. (you will see xml.tpl and xml because I used to output xml files that I used, but now only need to call perl)

Is this possible and what would I need to change in my tpl or templating.cfg file?

remove the complete presentation section, you may want to remove the generate and preview buttons as well, read the manual for the latter.

Without that section how will it know the name of the tpl file? I still need it to use the xml.tpl file since it contains my perl db calls.

Actually, thinking about it more, my ipl files contain the callout and have the xml.tpl file reference in the line that does the iwpt_compile.ipl.

I'll have to give your suggestion a try. I just won't be able to use the generate from the browser anymore for testing purposes.

That is a messed up implementation. I understand not using DAS, but put that in the workflow instead of the pt_compile.

I had to remove the -ofile from the iwpt_compile.ipl line in my perl files as this was what was creating the xml files. I also removed the section that Nipper mentioned as it seemed like good cleanup.
