hi,
I need to extract data from DCR into a cgi task. Could anyone guide me on this ?. Also i need to get the task id of the cgi script . But when it is finally published , i.e( after input task) , i am not able to retrieve the Id .. can anyone help ?

As per your code you are passing taskid in the hidden textbox, Are you getting taskid on the form ? if yes the how and where you are trying to get the taskid after the form is post ?

Can you share the code where you are trying to get the taskid ?

One Possible Reason

alert box is showing empty because when js script is called the perl varibale($taskid) don't have a value,as may be , i am not sure that $perl variable can't be accessed directly in js script,they should be pass as parameter.

Instead of trying alert("$taskId"), try document.getElementById('taskid') to get the value of

as you have defined,also give an id to text box and change its type to text instead of hidden ,so you can check that weather task id is coming on current form or not.

You cannot use code for CGI and TeamSite::CGI_lite interchangeably, and in general you should only use one those modules and not both in the same code (it can be done, but it's a bit tricky).

Assuming you move forward with TeamSite::CGI_lite (since that's what most of your code is written for) - you need to move the call to process_form() after you parse the taskid information from the form variables accessible to the CGI script - right now, it looks like you were calling process_form before doing that - which would explain why it comes out blank.

There are some other aspects of your code that I'm not sure about, but I don't feel like debugging it all for you right now, for free. Hopefully the above will help sufficiently to get you back on track.

There are numerous problems with your code.

The biggest one is that you are trying to use CGI module with the TeamSite::CGI_lite interface. So, either

use CGI;
...
my $value = cgi_object->param('foo'); # Single named Parameter

OR

use TeamSite::CGI_lite;
...
my $value = cgiLite_object->{form}('foo'); # Single named Parameter

Also, you are using un-initialized variables, etc. If I can make an advise - set "use strict" and
perhaps "use warnings" pragmas and make sure that your code at least compiles before trying to run it

Thanks for your info .. I have made the neccesary changes told by you but am still not being able to get any output .. Like i have used only TeamSite::CGI_lite .. and have declared the variables ... Could you please point out some more errors as i am new to teamsite ??

Please re-read the responses you've been given - other than removing the inclusion of the CGI module and commenting out one line - you've done nothing to fix your code.

This indicates to me that you probably have very little idea of what you are doing and are looking for someone else to do your work for you while you continue to get paid for it.

You might get someone to do it for you here - but as far as I'm concerned if you cannot show genuine effort on your part to actually learn (read, take training, etc.) and put a genuine effort into it - I have no reason to do your work for you.
