I need to send mail to all users in a TeamSite group selected in Workflow, through template based email (iwsend_email.ipl) i.e. to a multiple users in TeamSite Group(Which is approval group).

I am new to teamsite and have made the following changes can some one Please guide me whether I am correct or do i need to make any changes

You can try using workflow modeler WFM if you are starting fresh and not re-engineering an existing WFT. It has a clearly defined email task that is easy to setup.

Make sure that the exchange server has been setup by administrators first.

There is a bug (which supposedly has been fixed in 7.0) that prevents the OOTB WFM Mail program from working correctly if the target task is a GroupTask - there are work-arounds, but that requires some hackish-sort of stuff and re-implementing the Mail program yourself to take advantage of the hacks.

On the other hand, if you are using the iw_solution_email.ipl script, you [may] have to write your own header.tpl that retrieves the sharedby elements of the target task and expands them (according to your locally defined process) into a list of users, which can then be translated into email addresses and work as desired.

So, it may take a bit of work in either direction - but personally I think it's easier with the Perl route (at least until 7.0)

I have created a GroupNotificationTask.java class that handles notifications to groups, but you have to do use a task variable to define the group.

I've also extended the header tpl for iw_solution_email.ipl to make it work for grouptasks.

I'll sell either one to you...

Bottom line...it's not that hard to make it work either way.
