If I understand your question correctly - no, I don't believe you can do this.
You can augment the submission comment at the time the file is submitted, but after that, I believe it becomes "written in stone" - and I don't believe that there is any supported customization to allow for additional fields in the OOTB interface for version history. I suppose you might be able to write you own UI for version history and add some other field of information, but unless that information already exists in some way associated with the particular version of the particular file, I don't think you'd be able to do that.

Fish, I read the question differently and thought he wanted to add additional comment fields to the workflow instantiation screen (which you certainly can do)

Yes you can.

Please note that these fields are set upon Submission, you can not modify Comment and Info Comment after the fact. So:

- With CLT: iwsubmit ... -c global_comment -i info_comment ...
- WFT submittask: set Task Variables "submit_cmt" and "submit_info"
- OTB (wft) Submission Workflow: Populate both "Submit Comment" and "Submit Info" Fields

Thanks

My code worked by setting submit_info variable
