Open deploy problems with a new branch

Hi All,

I am creating a new branch. I did , changed all the open deploy configs and templates config. Now, while deploying it is saying "OpenDeploy Status Unknown. FAILED." In the log files it says

** Results = Locating OpenDeploy service.
Got OpenDeploy service
>>>>>-- Start deployment wft_opendeploy1158206.
iwodstart running in default synchronous mode.
Need to wait for deployment to complete.
***ERROR - Starting deployment.
Caught exception. Details: REQUEST_DENIED

Tue Nov 10 11:32:20 2009 - OpenDeploy Status Unknown. FAILED.
Tue Nov 10 11:32:20 2009 - odStatus = Completed with error
Tue Nov 10 11:32:20 2009 - callback (1) : OpenDeploy Status Unknown. FAILED.

Iam using TS 6.7.1
Solaris

What am I missing? Can you please help. Thanks.

without seeing your config and the actual log files, not much we can do

are you are using the default config wf ?

Did you change the wft_opendeploy.cfg to add the new branch and destination ?

You can turn on debugging (if that is the ipl external task)

This looks like a permissions / OD Authentication issue. Are you sure that the user who initiated the deployment has the "rights" to invoke that deployment?

You might need to disable the OD authentication checking completely if you are generating deployment configuration files on the fly - either that or make sure that all the od_user's have rights to deploy deployments in "/".

Login to the server as the user who owned the process to try to perform the deployment.
Go to the ODHOME/bin directory (if it isn't on your path) and run:

> iwodcmd start test

If that gives you a PERMISSION DENIED error - it means that OD is setup to check authentication and the user is not registered as an authenticated user or is not configured to run that deployment.

If it works, then try the same thing running the actual deployment you were trying to run - same issues may apply.

If that proves to be the case - you have [at least] two alternatives:
