Dynamic Content Across Branches

I am looking to see if anyone has any resources or has worked on project that involves using dynamic content across branches.

Basically I am looking to share news items across multiple branches. Ideally we will have a central news site where articles are written and categorized. I am looking to share news across different branches given a specific category that is assigned.

Example: News story is about department 1. It appears in the news site but then also appears on the homepage of department 1.

What is the most effective way of doing this with out worry about server load scaling issues etc? RSS for each category then parsing it with php simplexml?

If it were me, I would probably have the workflow deploy the news article to department1's website based on the category they selected in the content.

There's no need to "share" content between branches in TeamSite to reuse content in live web sites. You just deploy the content to the web sites that the content will be used on and keep everything in the proper place in TeamSite. If you want to link to content between branches then you'll have to set up some way for users to be able to navigate to other branches. We do this currently with our Intranet site where we have our main intranet branch and then under that we created branches for each department. Each department can link to news articles or content from other branches (we had to create a custom file browser to navigate other branches).

Basically, figure out where your content needs to reside on the website end and set your workflow up to deploy appropriately, then write any tie ins you need for inter-branch communications.
