PDF Conversion Settings

Is there a way to change how mediabin converts files to PDF, inparticular we are facing issue with the following :

Encoding is being set to custom, resulting in downstream programs being unable to interpret the text within the PDF.

PDFs are being exported as version 1.4.

Any ideas?
