tracking if node element is present in DCR!

I am retriving values entered in DCR in my tpl file
i.e.
my $ownerName=iwpt_dcr_value('childContainer.owner_name');

this is working fine...,

Is there any by which we can check if element owner_name (jack) does not exist in DCR?

I am working on Teamsite 6.7.1

Well, you could do something like:

my $ownerName = iwpt_dcr_value('childContainer.owner_name') || undef;
if ($ownerName == undef || $ownerName =~ /^\s*$/) {
    # not set
}
...

You might be able to skip the || piece and simplify the conditional that follows if you verify what the actual return value is when it isn't set
