Default location for saving the generated HTML

Hi All,

When we generate the html page - it brings up a popup for entering output file name.
I have to select the path for saving the html by browsing.

Is there any way we can specify the default location for saving the html?

Yeah edit the templating.cfg file

How? I've tried modifying the dir regex to no avail. Where specifically under templating.cfg do you need to look?

The setting in the templating.cfg file will only be used to *validate* the location where you try to save the file - it will *not* be used to set the initial directory for the file to be saved in.

I believe there is a feature request for this - but just in case, I suggest you contact Interwoven Support to register a request if you feel so inclined.

We had put this in as a feature request back in the 4.5x days. I'm amazed that more customers havent asked about this issue. I have a hard time believing that we're the only customers have to drill down several directories to generate content, especially for large-scale websites. There must be some sort of workaround?

I think this is true of numerous TeamSite snags.

In my experience, these little things are annoying to *most* customers (all that I have been to). Most of them just learn to live with it. Few file feature request, and even fewer follow up.

Bottomline, you are not the only one who needs this feature.

More things to add as a feature request could be

when we select a File -> New Data Record from the datatype level,
it still goes to the beginning of the level where we need to select category and datatype again.

This somtimes make us to forget where we need to create the dcr!!
