unlink command failing

Hi,
I'm trying to get a basic script working that will scan a directory and then delete/submit all the files to IW stage. It seems to be failing at the delete step --> unlink($fullpath);

 use File::Find;
my $dir = "/default/main/mfs/WORKAREA/mfsemc/files/kana/1050/";
my @files;
find(\&wanted, $dir);
foreach $filepath(@files) {
$fullpath = "/iwmnt" . "$filepath";
unlink($fullpath);
submitdeletion($filepath);
my $result = qx($command 2>&1);
 if ($?) {
  print "CMD: $command\n=> $result\n";
 }
}
sub wanted {-f && push(@files, $File::Find::name);}
sub submitdeletion
{
$path = shift;

$command = "/iw-home/bin/iwsubmit -w -r $path \"Expired content in kana directory\" ";

$result = `$command 2>&1`;

}

I get this message and the files still show up in the GUI-->

 CMD: /iw-home/bin/iwsubmit -w -r /default/main/mfs/WORKAREA/mfsemc/files/kana/1050/sn1050txt.txt "Expired content in kana directory" 
=> /default/main/mfs/WORKAREA/mfsemc/files/kana/1050/sn1050txt.txt: ERROR:02401: File or directory is the same as the other version

Migrateduser

Print out the value of $fullpath and see if it's what you think it should be. If it is, try the unlink (using that exact path) from the command prompt. See if you get an error message.

Try augmenting your code a bit:

...
foreach $filepath (@files) {
    $fullpath = "/iwmnt$filepath";
# add debug print to verify fullpath value
my $count = unlink($fullpath);
if ($count != 1) {
        # error condition, try looking at $! and/or $? for more information
    }
    submitdeletion($filepath);
    ...
}
...

Thanks everyone. It turned out to be a permission error on the server.
