Delete Web Server Content

Hi. I am struggling through my first implementation of TS. Among many other things, I am surprised to hear that when a user deletes content from within Teamsite, that there is no out-of-the-box functionality to automatically delete content on my web server. This seems so incredibly basic.

Am I mistaken? Do I have to create a workflow associated with the delete process to delete content off of my web server?

You definitely can promote deletions via OpenDeploy if you utilize the DoDeletes flag in your config file. Are you using OpenDeploy to deploy your assets to your web server? If so, you should read up on the DoDeletes flag.

Note: Don't stop reading after learning about DoDeletes - read the sections on filtering too (and heck, might as well at least skim the rest of the documentation - or go to an Interwoven Training class where you not only learn about such things but can ask questions and try things out in a controlled environment... (and no, this is not *just* a shameless plug - the courses *do* provide value)
