What do you mean by the production files ?

Staging area files are visible inside the Staging as well as the workarea as they are submitted from workarea.

They are supposed to be same. If they are different in your case, then check your workflow logic about where the files are saved before deploying to production site.

Generally speaking - files being sent to a preview environment come from the workarea as they are usually being reviewed prior to being submitted.

Still generally speaking - files being sent to a production environment usually come from either the staging area or an edition.

If you are a user - talk to your implementors.
If you are an implementor - read manuals and/or get some training as you seem to have a rather loose grasp on the product architecture.
