Populate values in DCT

Hi,
I want to populate values from db into a dropdown (in DCT). Is there any way other than using DBI (as it is not available) to achieve this? If DD, then plz guide me as I havn't used this before. Thanks.

You have to write an external program and make use of inline or CallServer to call that program.Your external program will fetch the records from db and inline or CallServer will incorporate those records into your drop-down.

You should write DD configuration first to get values from DB to xml file then
Implement the logic to execute the DD command at ipl using the above configuration.
Finally process the xml file in ipl and extract values to array and pass the array to DCR through call server
