Web Daemon Error - Unable to start Teamsite

brin

Hi,

We are using TS6.7.1SP1 on solaris 9 for development. A few days back, we found that the mount points had dissapeared all of a sudden, we made all possible attempts to find out the cause. There was no error also logged in the log files except for
"Setting LD_PRELOAD to work around Sun bug 5075525". This started being logged when we restarted the server in iwserver log.

Now we uninstalled the teamsite and have installed again, and we find the following message in servletd log. Can anyone pls tell me what is causing this error. Its from servletd_out.log file.

/app/iw-home/servletd/bin/servletd: usage: kill [ [ -sig ] id ... | -l ]

Using CATALINA_HOME: /app/iw-home/servletd

This time I am able to see the mount points and I also get an error saying that "Failed to start Interwoven Web Daemon." in iwserver log, also the LD_PRELOAD error persists.

Please help anyone.

Best Regards
Brinda.

You probably should open a case with Support, but ...

/app/iw-home/servletd/bin/servletd: usage: kill [ [ -sig ] id ... | -l ]

This appears to be the tail-end of an error (see below)

Nov 25, 2009 6:44:28 PM org.apache.catalina.startup.Catalina stopServer SEVERE: Catalina.stop: java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused

These are annoying but can be ignored - Catalina often generates errors when it is being shut down - you're more concerned that it doesn't generate errors when starting up.

cat: cannot open /app/iw-home/local/logs/iwui/servletd.pid Killing: cat: cannot open /app/iw-home/local/logs/iwui/servletd.pid /app/iw-home/servletd/bin/servletd: usage: kill [ [ -sig ] id ... | -l ]

Seeing that last line in context with the previous two suggests a couple of things:

When you did the installation, was it done by someone logged in as, or fully su'd to "root"? Someone doing a sudo? or something else?Is there any other information in the iwserver.log, iwtrace.log, and/or servleted_out.log that might shed some light on the matter?
