TeamSite not coming up - Eventsubsystem error

Hello -

TeamSite is not coming up on our environment because of the below Eventsubsystem error:

TeamSite: 672 SP1 on Solaris 10 and we're using Oracle DB for Eventsubsystem.

We tried to disable ESS in iw.cfg, but it's not working.

Any help in this regards is much appreciated.

Do you see anything noticeable error messages in other log files?
Did you run iwreset -a after disabling ESS in iw.cfg file?
Did this happened suddenly or did you or anyone installed anything on the TS server?

Have you checked the Oracle DB schema is up and running.
When you restart the box sometimes you need to manually restart the event subsystem DB schema.

TeamSite looks for iw.cfg in the following locations, in the following order:

/etc/iw.cfg
iw-home/config/iw.cfg
iw-home/local/etc/iw.cfg
iw-home/etc/iw.cfg

so if you want to make changes to iw.cfg then you should make changes initially at "/etc/iw.cfg" and then reset teamsite. This should work and the ESS will be disabled.

Regarding the TeamSite not getting up, try restarting the solaris system. And further can look at the following support article. The article specifies the log related changes. However, they will be helpful for removing the expired messages.

There are no error messages in other log files except eventsubd.log.

Initially I had problems with disabling ESS, now I'm able to disable ESS by making changes in iw.cfg.

Looks like your db-connection failed for some reason. I would check this connection manually somehow (as in, find db-server, usr, pw and try them in something like sql*plus from your teamsite-server.). That should give you soem hints.
