Components retrieve from db

Hi,

I want to create a SitePublisher component that can retrieve from db, but I'm not sure where and how to start.

Can somebody help me please..

I'm using TS7 with SP7 on a Windows 2003 SP2 server. My database is MS SQL 2005.
