Check that all your services are running. You may need to just wait longer, or try restarting the servlet engine, proxy server, and web server

What windows version are installing it on?
is the Interwoven TeamSite Server service set to start automatically? look at windows services .

maverick83

hi,

thanks for your guidance again ,the install is being done on "microsoft windows server 2003 standard edition sp2 ",i have noticed that servletd_out.log shows similar error messages again and again which i am attaching with this post ,it doesnt have give an indication if this is some port conflict issue as i have read in some other posts related to this issue, the error message being "The Interwoven Web Daemon was unable to contact the Interwoven Servlet Engine. The Interwoven Servlet Engine may be down, or running on an unexpected host or port.

Please contact your system administrator. "

also when i give iwrest -a command ,it gives the message

"E:\Interwoven\TeamSite\bin>iwreset -a
Performing E:\Interwoven\TeamSite\bin\iwutildreset ...
Resetting iwserver. This operation takes some time
Please wait...
ERROR:5000013: Unable to establish connection with server"

though i had started both interwoven servlet and interwoven teamsite manually

please guide regarding this issue ,

restart all TS services, I think it is the utility D that iwreset talks to.

maverick83

hi,

thanks for your reply ,after i do the restart i am able to open the login page successfully but within seconds "interwoven teamsite" service gets shutdown itself and we have to restart it manually ,it gives the same log message as pervious attachment if we do iwreset through command line, please guide if you have idea about this issue ,

looking forward for some guidance from experts

Mav,

Correction: i did not read the thread good enough.

Some configuration of your servlet is wrong. But it is not clear which. :-(

It could help to re-build your toolkit. Check the manuals on how to do this.

maverick83

Hi,

thanks for your guidance ,i tried rebuilding toolkit but the same issue keeps repeating i.e teamsite server gets shutdown itself out of nowwhere, its a strange issue ,i had done 3 installation of ts 6.7.2 on test servers(all windows) succesfully but it got stuck on production ,i ll just try to do a fresh install and see how is goes ,nyways thanks for all your guidance again

Did you look in iwtrace.log and iwserver.log? post both of them on here if you can.

maverick83

hi,

yeh sure ,i am attaching both logs here for your reference ,as i have written above login screen comes up ok and then within few seconds "teamsite server"gets shutdown and Y drive becomes inaccessible,on doing iwreset -a it gives below message

Performing E:\Interwoven\TeamSite\bin\iwutildreset ...
Resetting iwserver. This operation takes some time
Please wait...
ERROR:5000013: Unable to establish connection with server
[\code]

please provide some pointers ?

thanks in advance

Open up control panel -> Services and view what IWOV services are down

Attempt to restart them, if one (or more) will not stay running, look for logs that were updated, also check windows event viewer.

There is not much anyone can do without actually looking at information that is relevant to the issue.

from your iwtrace,

[Mon Dec 07 08:13:58 2009] ERROR: USCEDWS05D\iwguser is not a valid IW Global user name. Non-OS users will not be supported.

that could be related to the root cause of your issue, go thru the install log and see if the iwguser was created or not, and if there are any error messages.

I am thinking this is the crux of the issue:

[Mon Dec 07 08:14:01 2009] Creating new inode tables.
[Mon Dec 07 08:14:01 2009]: TNetworkShares::Add Can't NetShareAdd, The device or directory does not exist!
[Mon Dec 07 08:14:01 2009]: TNetworkShares::Add Can't NetShareAdd, The device or directory does not exist!

It appears that *something* is making your iw-store unhappy.

Check to see if the store is available.

Also, deactivate the store and create a new store. See if you can mount it and get TS running.

maverick83

Hi,

Can we change the defaut port 80 (to lets say 84)if it is busy for some critical reasons and cant be made available ,i have read following line :-

"the values assigned to http_port in iw.cfg and port in httpd.conf stored at iw-home\iw-webd\conf\ should be same",so i can change both these files
,i understand that in this case we have to access ui through "http://serverip:84/iw-cc/command/iw.ui"

are there any aother steps involved beside "iwreset -a" and server reboot ?

Looking for some guidance from experts,

Yes, you can change the port in iw.cfg for iwov's iw-webd to something else besides 80. You'll also need to change the port number in iwwebd.conf.template in iw-home/iw-webd/conf directory.
Make sure you are changing the template file and not the conf file.
Then issue a iwreset -a.

You shouldn't need to reboot your server though.
But something is preventing/stopping your teamsite service, and I don't think it is the iw-webd is the problem.
