Has anyone updated TinyMCE separately from TeamSite?

Garth McMillan

I was just wondering if anyone has updated TinyMCE separately from TeamSite?

I understand there are some TeamSite specific plugins, but am unsure of any changes to the core TinyMCE code.

I'm hoping to get some information from other TeamSite developers before I start investigating if this is viable.

We are using TeamSite 6.7.2 SP2 which has TinyMCE 3.1.2.

do you mean that you want to update the version that comes with TeamSite with let's say the latest version in tinymce site. if that is what you mean then I would advice you not to do that. It will break the current TinyMCE that you have in teamsite.

hope that helps.

There are both. IWOV changed the core code to enable integration with FormAPI (you can imagine that for example, iwItem.getValue() can't grab from the textarea as normal, it first has to notify TinyMCE to grab the current content of the editing iFrame instead and possibly update the now-hidden textarea). Your choices are either upgrading TeamSite which will come with an updated TinyMCE, or use a callout to a popup window where you use your own version.
