A deployment can be started from OpenDeploy UI. There may be many deployment configuration files in the "od-home/etc" location. Any one of these can be selected to start deployment from UI.

Now when I want to integrate, one of these deploymentConfiguration files with "deploy" workflow, how to do it ? There is "wft_opendeploy.ipl" script that starts the deployment. I have never worked with this script. How to make sure that this script starts particular deploymentConfiguration file from many in "od-home/etc" location ? This details is not provided in the manual.

1st, they are in OpenDeployNG/conf not etc

The answers are different depending on your type of workflow. Both WFT and WFM have solutions that include deployments, You can look at those. The one you specified is an old solution that is WFT based (though it could be used in WFM).

I tend to write my own deploy.ipl which will do whatever I want it to. That can be done in java kicked off by WFM as well.

For WFM - if you're using the DeployTask - you specify the deployment configuration file as a Task Variable "odDeploymentName"

You can invoke a deployment from using a command (check the manual to know more about the command). Now this command can be run from a .ipl file. You can use this file in your external task of the workflow.

wft_opendeploy.ipl script reads the configuration info from a file wft_opendeploy.cfg

There is .sample available in the solutions folder, you can take that and rename to wft_opendeploy.cfg

Basically you have to mention the deployment file name without the .xml extention in the config file
