WorkFLow Question: changing the selected users in WF

TS environment: 7.2.1 and WFM

Hi Gurus,

The users multi-selected in the instantiation screen and are assigned to a group task( using SCRIPT). The selected users are "AVAILABLE USERS" to that group. The selected users can "TAKE" the group task (grouptask1) and proceed with the WF process. Similarly, we have other set of users assigned to grouptask2 which are selected from the instantiation screen.

The requirement is : When the grouptask2 users are not available( vacation/sick), the ADMIN group( TS group) can also TAKE the task and re-assign the users again. Can it be possible? if yes , any pointers?

Basically can the users assigned for grouptask2 can be changed? ( As already the users are selected in the instantiation screen)

Hi ,

I think it is possible to change group .You need to look on the formapi script for changing the values or in the java you need to check for some condition like on what situation the group will be changed to Admin group.
We have addGroup() & removeGroup() in the CSGroupTask hope that would help you.

Are you talking about having both the "grouptask2 users" and the "ADMIN group" share the [potential] ownership of the grouptask at the task time - or having the "ADMIN group" users be able to override the shared-by aspect of the grouptask even though they are not [initially] listed as being part of the shared-by members for that task?

The former should be trivial - just add the "ADMIN group" to the sharedby membership of the task (hard-coded) in addition to whatever is selected during instantiation.

The latter is a bit more complicated, but certainly possible. The easiest way is probably with a timeout transition on the grouptask that transitions to an externaltask (owned by a 'Master' account) which then adds the "ADMIN group" to sharedby list for the grouptask (or replaces the previous sharedby list with the "ADMIN group") and then transitions back to it (probably sending an email before doing so).
