query on TeamSite::CGI_lite pm

Hi,

In the following example code "iw-bin/example_datacapture_callout.ipl",

my $cgi = TeamSite::CGI_lite->new();
$cgi->parse_data();
my $form_name = $cgi->{'form'}{'iw_form_name'};
my $element_name = $cgi->{'form'}{'iw_callback_var'};
my $user_name = $cgi->{'form'}{'user_name'};
my $item_name = $cgi->{'form'}{'iw_item_name'};


What is the difference between the above 2 values.

$element_name
$item_name

Because if we look at the complete code,once the required value is obtained,the code will set the value of the item named "$element_name" back to the DCR.

Its a bit confusing.

Please let me know if am missing anything here.

I believe there is a difference (slight in some cases, not so sight in others) - but the most important piece is that the code you're looking at is historically old and shouldn't really be used - it is far better to utilize FormAPI's getScriptFrame() call and then utilize the rest of the FormAPI layer for accessing and setting values within the the calling DCT.
