Image In DCT

how can we have an image in a DCT without a browse button? or how can we set the browse button to hidden and still preview the image? Please check out the image for my exact requirement.

How do you intend to browse the image then? I mean, how do you want to populate it in your DCR?

it has only 1 value. . .not meant to be changed. . .i just want an image to be seen in the DCT on "NewFormEntry"...the imagePreview thing is linked to browse button, if i am not wrong? i cant figure out how to keep the image alone. i don need the browse thing. i have given the value using "default". is there a datatype for an image? it is not there in any pdf

So what I understand is that in your form you'd like to display some kind of a logo (image), which will not necessary be needed to get save as DCR data?

You can do it this way:

1. Use FormAPI onInit event.
2. You need to do a view source of your DCR and find out where you can inject your HTML code snippet.
3. This code snippet will carry your image information.

Please note that it's a hack. It works only within Container's Label. It will not work for the Item Smiley Sad

To use it you can perhaps create an empty Container where required, etc...

Alternatively, you can try to style DC Form appearance using <viewoptions> Tag "cssurl" Attribute.
That's supported. You may play with canonical DCT CSS to see if you can set some Class with the desired
background Image or something of that nature

Like we have a rowcontinue on an item level to have two items in the same row, we do not have it when it comes to containers, right? do you know how i could do that? cz if i make a container inside the container, i am guessing the second onw will come in the next line.

You are correct - containers cannot [by default] be located side-by-side.
The only way you might be able to do what you are suggesting would be to play with the CSS for the DCT - and the emphasis is significantly on the word "might"

I've tried this on TS 7.1 and it seems this doesn't work for saved DCRs, the new form entry shows the image but once the dcr is saved it throws an InvaliDCTException.

Pls suggest if anyone has a fixed solution for this problem.

You are hitting a 3 year old post and TS7.1 is end of life now. I doubt you will get any solution from Support on this.

my bad, there was an encoding problem, after correction, the problem got fixed.
