Live site-opening page issue

Hi ,
servletd_out.log has RuntimeExceptions while .pages are being opened

i m using this command to show the error logs....
tail -1000f /gleams/iw-home/local/logs/iwui/servletd_out.log

is any one can clarify?

components and templates are rendering in the page very fine..no prob with code in components and templatdes.......the prob is, once we edit the page these exceptions are comming in bakgroud.

Check your code and find out why you have null pointer exception and also check your components and see if they are pointing to a correct prefix/external and that the jar with specified class/method is found.

Once you open a livesite page, the java codes in the external components will be executed and in GUI "Loading " Message will be shown

If the code is executed successfully, the desired output of component is shown else error message will be thrown in GUI as well as in servlet_log

So check your parameters are passed correctly to the external jave code, do have a debug option enabled in your java code, if so enable it and check your code execution, then you will be able to narrow down to root cause of the error.
