ts721: what happened to port 81?

RonaldV

Hi all,

ts721 @win2k3, all teamsite services are running.

When we try a url like this:

http://teamsite/iw-mount/something

we get this error:
Connection Failed
iwproxy was unable to open a connection to: localhost:81
Reason: No error.
In the httpd.conf no reference to port 81 can be found. netstat does not list port 81.

What happened to preview-port 81 in ts721?

The /iw-mount/ piece causes it to try to go through the "customer web server" which, by default (if you look at your iw.cfg) goes to port 81 - and expects to find a web server listening there. Usually, on Windows, the "customer web server" is IIS - which needs to have been properly setup - either during installation (when you get prompted) or after-the fact. The tspostreboot.pl script can usually be used to "fix" this - but you may have to play around with the password for the TSIMP_servername account if it already exists (it might be easier just to get rid of it and have tspostreboot.pl re-create it)

Do you have IIS (or some other "customer web server") running on your TS server box? Is it configured to listen on port 81?

Yes, you are right. It was a very stupid question. :-)
