2008 is supported per the release notes but R2 is not specified one way or the other in terms of compatibility. It's also not specified either way in the release notes for OD 7.2. We tried to install 6.2 on a 2008 R2 server and it failed to do any deployments so wanted to see if anyone was running 6.2 on a 2008 R2 server successfully before doing more troubleshooting since it's an unknown as far as compatibility. I also have a ticket in to Autonomy on this matter but haven't heard back yet.
