Hi all,

Just want to put down as where we could have advantages over the mounted path against the default.

Everyone, if you are known to any special case... please put on.

PATH A - /iwmnt/default/main/branch/subBranch/etc
PATH B - /default/main/branch/subBranch/etc

If you are talking about Unix - where /iwmnt is the location where 'default' and other stores would be mounted - then in scripting you'd rather use A than B because B depends on a symbolic link that may or may not exist, and may or may not exist for other stores (e.g.: /default may point to /iwmnt/default but there may not be a /iwadmin pointing to /iwmnt/iwadmin - and thus any code attempting to access that store from the file system would fail)

Of course you shouldn't hard-code /iwmnt in your scripts - you should retrieve that from something like TeamSite::Config::iwgetmount();

On the other hand - if you are using the path as an argument for a CLT - you should most often go with B - as that is a vpath (which is usually what's called for) and A is not.
