import an existing file from my local machine to my workarea

Hi ,
I want to import an existing file from my local machine to my workarea and that too using cssdk API. I am doing this in C# by using below method:

CSWebDeskHelper fileImport = util.getImportFilesUrl(Context, "/default/main/component-guide/WORKAREA/shared", localpaths, string.Empty, string.Empty);

after calling this method, no exception is thrown and fileImport object comes out to be null.

Please reply if some one has done this.
