user management in 7.2.1

Hi,

We have installed TS 7.2.1 installed on linux box, while installation we created root user and we are using same user credentials to login in content center UI.
Post installation of T.S. we have created couple of users in linux, now we are trying to add os user in user management tab, it is not allowing saying 'user already exists in system' however it will not allow to login with that credentials.

What could be the reason?
Is there any configuration to be done that we are missing ?
Is it advisable to edit tsusers.xml to add new user?

Note:- in tsusers.xml it is showing only one user that is 'root'

it is not allowing [to add the User] saying 'user already exists in system'...

Instead of creating, try to find an existing OS User and make him TS User. Pick "OS"
in Database Drop-down, type UID and click "Search/Browse". What happens?

After picking OS as database, enterring UID and clicking on search/browse it will list me the user name I am trying to add. On clicking next, a screen appears asking me to enter email-id, role assignment, CCpro/CCStd access. After filling all the information if click on add it opens a popup saying
"The following users were not added because they already exist in the system:"

Note:
1) I am creating it as platform master
2) I have not created any new group and assiging the default.

Are you sure the user didn't already get created?
Check the IWHOME/conf/roles/tsusers.xml file (carefully) to make sure.
If the user entry isn't in there - you should probably open a case with Support.
