Is there a way to import keywords and synonyms

Is there a way to import keywords and synonyms into metasource editor from an excel file? I have an excel file that lists the synonyms in parenthesis after the actual term. For example, one cell in my excel document contains “stroke (cerebral infarction)”. I would like to assign cerebral infarction as an alternate term for stroke when I run iwlist2vocab. Is this possible?
