OK, I have a script I have written to use ODBC to query from a DB. But that means someone needs to make an ODBC connection.I have searched for JDBC modules for Perl and found nothing. Am I missing something ?

Doesn't JDBC imply Java? Why would you use JDBC in Perl? I don't have anything positive to add to your thread. Just negative. I gotta be me.

JDBC connections are easier than ODBC (I do not have to get pain in the a$$ admins like Smitty involved). There is a JDBC PM that I could download and install but that would be a bigger pain than creating an ODBC connection, It is not like JDBC has been around for 10 years or anything.

I'm impressed that you consider me an Admin. I don't even know why I responded (other than to increase my post count, of course) as the last thing I did with Perl and a DB was with DBI a bazillion years ago.

What environment are you trying to make the call from? Unix, Windows etc.

Here's an example of a DNS less connection that will work against a sql server. You can change the "driver={SQL Server}" section to go after whatever source you like.
