Ho to get layout type of a page ?

Hi,

Is there any way we can find the layout type of a page without opening it in edit mode and get it in page settings? We have an requirement where we need to find layout type of each page. And because of large number of pages, opening each page is becoming very time consuming.

Please suggest if there is an faster way to get layout type of .page file.

I believe that is stored in an extended attribute of the file.

The layout type is stored within the page structure as you mentioned also it relies on the default page type within the site definition.

Are these fixed layouts or Freestyle Layouts? If these are fixed layouts, Dan's solution would work as fixed layout file name is mentioned in extended attributes and you can easily find out that information by running some script.

Not sure about freestyle layouts.

Page layouts are not being the part of extended attributes but yes they are part of .page code file which is nothing rather an XML file. So I believe, instead of it has to be read from output page itself.

Actually in component, an call template logic has to be applied that should read the page structure and pull out layout value.

I am not sure how this logic shall be implemented but this approach is what I can come up with.

Haven't tried it myself, but you may have some luck retrieving that info from the RequestContext in an external:
context.getPageLayoutConfig();
