dd using sql statments

Hi, Is it possible to run sql statements and xml -> DB deployments in the same DD config? From the manual it appears like in order to use sql statements you have to use the command line option iwdd-op=do-sql. Which appears to rule out running a xml->DB deployment. Anyone know?
