Hi,

We have deployment workflow to deploy the content from Teamsite to Tatrget nodes. The workflow is configured in such a way EX: Whenever we deploy the content from /default/main/multisite/internet branch, content will be deployed to www.XYZ.com

Now we got a new request, i.e We need to get the content from other site Ex: www.abc.com to /default/main/multisite/internet branch

Can the files inside the other application www.abc.com , be automatically transferred to /default/main/multisite/internet branch?

If we can do using reverse deploy, what are the required setting for www.abc.com in order to do reversedeploy

Let me know, if you have any queries on the requirement

The server supporting www.abc.com (I'm guessing not really the American Broadcast Company) would need to have an OpenDeploy Receiver installed on it in order for a reverse deployment to be performed, and it would have to be configured with the TeamSite / OpenDeploy Base server as an allowedHost (in the odrcvr.xml file)

Assuming that's done correctly and there are no firewalls between the two servers - or if there are, you've taken the proper steps to configure things accordingly (read the manuals) - you should be able to initiate a reverse deployment from the OpenDeploy Base (TeamSite) server to retrieve files from the OpenDeploy Receiver (www.abc.com) server.

The next thing you need to figure out is if you're doing this as a file list deployment or a directory comparison based deployment (my guess would be the latter, but one never knows) - and make sure you configure everything the way you want it. Try running the deployment in simulated mode and looking through the log files to try and make sure it will do what you want before actually running it.

There are lots of other options - but not with respect to using OpenDeploy.

At the other (insane) extreme - you could do View Source on each and every page on the web and hand-copy the code word-for-word.

There are utilities out there (search via google) that allow you to point to a web site and have it download all the files it finds (I think it's called "scraping" but I could be wrong about the terminology) - once that's done, you could then put the files into TeamSite (if desired).

OpenDeploy is a good approach IFF you have (or can place) an OpenDeploy Receiver on the other server.
