Files in workflow

I am relatively new to workflow development. I am trying to accomplish the following:

I want to pass the value of (iw_file[$i]) to a script so that it can generate an html page using the attached file as the DCR.
I have hidden values in the TAG info section of the workflow to pass values such as the workarea, template name etc to the generation .ipl script. How can I pass the iw_file variable?

Does this make sense,

iw_setwfarg_dcr => "(iw_file)";

I am getting a error when I try and run the workflow, so I am definitely doing something wrong.

My advice would be to approach this from a different tack...

Do not try to pass any arguments to the ipl explicitly.

In the ipl script us ehte GetFiles method in the WFtask package to retrieve the list of files attached to the job at that point:

the job number and task number are passed to .ipl scripts as arguments...

my ($job_id,$task_id) = @_;

my $task_obj = new WFtask($task_id);
my @files = $task_obj->GetFiles();

# @files will contain a list of the files attached to the job at that point. I believe that the list elements are paths to the files relative to the workarea.

I would like to add functionality for mutiple files. Basically I have a loop for my files, but what it does is put all the files into one long string..

i.e. when I print the value of $file I get

path to dcr1path to dcr2 (all in one string)

What is the best way to get these file separated to multiple iwgen statements can be executed?

I would be difficult to create a single command string that contains all of the files to be regenerated, and this could fail when you have a large number of files.

It would be better to execute iwgen from inside the loop over your files, assuming that this loop is inside an external task (not in your WFT).
