finding files on the filesystem

we recently had a hard drive failure on our mediabin server. We've migrated all of the data to a new server, but it seems we have some corrupted files.

I can find a specific file (asset) displaying the problem in our new Mediabin server, and I want to compare that to the file on the old server (without mediabin running).

1. Is there a way I can find out what physical file on the filesystem in the ImageDB directory that an asset maps to?

2. If I attempt to replace a corrupted file from a filesystem backup, what trouble could that cause?
