Asset import question

Hi All,

In place of using asset import functionality in teamsite, if I will copy asset
from local m/c to server via winscp will work as it ?

Or teamsite import functionality will add some extra prarameters while importing asset ?

Import is just a transport, you can use any other File copying mechanisms
