If you mean whether "Restrict access to this workarea" is checked - you can use iwattrib vpath-to-workarea privateaccess which will return "TRUE" if the box is checked, or "FALSE" if it is not checked.

If you mean whether there is a group associated with the workarea - you could use iwattrib vpath-to-workarea group which will return the group name if there is a group associated with it, or "<no group>" if there isn't.
