DNR only run once ?

OK, so I have a DNR that I want to run when the complete iwod task has completed.

I have a deployment to a rep farm of 4 targets. And am using this in the DNR

But if I look at the log:

[Wed Sep 7 11:50:46 2011]: Starting imageMove
[Wed Sep 7 11:50:46 2011]: Return success
[Wed Sep 7 11:50:46 2011]: Starting imageMove
[Wed Sep 7 11:50:46 2011]: Return success
[Wed Sep 7 11:50:48 2011]: Starting imageMove
[Wed Sep 7 11:50:48 2011]: Return success
[Wed Sep 7 11:50:49 2011]: Starting imageMove
[Wed Sep 7 11:50:49 2011]: Return success

It seems to have run once for each target which I cannot have happen, I want to to run when all 4 have completed.

What am I missing ?

Remove deployNRun from the execDeploymentTask, that gets executed for each Target Node (on the micro level).

Try to use macro DNR Deployment, eg dnrDeploymentJob Tag with the corresponding script Tag. See Deployment-Level
vs Task-Level Triggers in OD Deployment Manual.

Got me further, but my code is not picking up deployed files:


my $xml_obj = IWXML::GetLogDataFromSTDIN();
my @f_success = $xml_obj->GetSucceededFiles();

my $success = 1;
debug($debugFile, "Starting imageMove") if ($DEBUG);

    foreach(@f_success){
        debug($debugFile, "file $_") if ($DEBUG);

Files were successfully deployed, the Starting message is in my log, but none of the foreach statements go.

Have the PMs changed in 7 ?

This is set to run after success on the sender

Check "Deploy and Run" Chapter, "Usage of the Deployment Information Stream".
It *looks* like it won't work at Deployment level Trigger Smiley Sad

Did it work in the previous (once per Task) Configuration?

Not sure what you may do... You may perhaps run both Job and Task level triggers
where Task Level just collects the list for the future Job level run.
By the same token it can check if the list is already there, ignore duplicates, etc.

Alternatively, you can create additional (redundant - sigh) Configuration that is
identical for the group but point to a single node. You'll then execute both tasks
within deployment providing deployNRun only for the "Single Node" Deployment Task.
Sloppy, but may work without extra coding...

Or, you can use some mutex/semaphore/flag to run script only once with the first or last Task, something like that

Yea that was what I figured. It actually makes sense, if you are deploying to multiple targets, the files deployed could be different.

I have to *cough* thank Nipper for posting this question so recently to avoid me having to try and search for a nasty 3-letter word (DNR). This was almost exactly the problem I was looking to solve. You guys are special.
