data-types in SP

nirali

In SP only datums are used in content xml. There are data types given in SP guide. Where are these data types used (Like TeamSIte assets) in SP ?

I have never used a data type in SP in Content XML, APpearance XML or Appearance XSL. Is data type used at any different document than these ?Please let me know how is it used ?

Thanks
